Huntington Beach State Park Things to Do

Coastal Exploration Programs

Want to enjoy some adventure together? You’ll find an array of Coastal Exploration Programs ranging from kayaking excursions in the marshland to nature walks on the many trails in the park. Be sure to check ahead of time to see whether or not they are running any of these programs during your visit.

Atalaya

While you’ll find many large beach houses along the Hammock Coast, nothing compares to Atalaya. This 20th-century Moorish-style castle in Huntington Beach State Park is a remarkable work of art. This home was the winter retreat for philanthropist Archer Huntington and his wife, Anna. You can take a self-guided tour of the home and grounds for a fun look into the past.

Beach Walking and Nature Trail Hiking

There are several trails weaving and winding through the beautiful coastal ecosystems within Huntington Beach State Park. They are easy and family-friendly, with the longest trail only two miles in length. Of course, you can also go for a stroll on the serene, untouched beaches.
