What is Pawleys Island like in September?

Believe it or not, many of the best features of a vacation in Pawleys Island are enhanced when visiting later in the summer. Taking the trip during the month means slightly cooler weather that remains warm, typically staying in the mid-80s, and cooling to the mid-60s later in the night, making it perfect for enjoying beach days, hiking through historic parks, and playing rounds of golf.

It’s no secret that the weather in September makes for a great beach day, but another plus of Pawleys in September is the atmosphere. Since September is a less popular time of year to visit, you’ll also see smaller crowds on the beach, giving you and your group the feeling that you have the shoreline to yourself! If you do find someone a little too close to your setup, there’s thankfully over 4 miles of shoreline for you to pick from.

Attend Community Events in September

Take in the local community’s spirit and plan to attend a local event. Pawleys Island is home to many fun activities and presentations around town, many of which explore the area’s local culture with interactive experiences.
